Solar thermal incentive program expanded in California

California regulators have expanded the state’s California Solar Initiative Thermal Program in an effort to provide enhanced incentives for solar heating and cooling technologies</a>, reports FierceEnergy.com. Expanded eligibility includes process heat applications and solar cooling, as well as commercial and single-family combination water- and space-heating units.

In addition to accepting new technologies, the California Public Utilities Commission Order also modifies the way program rebates are paid by implementing a performance-based system.
