A.O. Smith, Bradford White And Delta Faucet Award Scholarships

A.O. Smith, Bradford White Corp. and Delta Faucet Co. recently announced the winners of scholarships for the pursuit of plumbing-heating-cooling-related studies. To qualify for scholarships, students must submit a detailed application including a letter of recommendation from an active member of the PHCC-National Association and enroll in a plumbing-heating-cooling-related course of study or apprentice program. 

  • A.O. Smith: The two $2,500 scholarships from A.O. Smith are administered through the PHCC Educational Foundation. They were awarded to: Adam Andrewjeski of Las Vegas, who is enrolling at the University of California Berkeley to pursue a four-year degree in mechanical engineering; and Paul Osborne of Arlington, Texas, who is currently enrolled in the PHCC of Texas four-year plumbing apprentice program.


  • Bradford White Corp.: Bradford White provided $15,000 to support 2010 student scholarships through PHCC. $7,500 in Bradford White scholarships are awarded through the PHCC Educational Foundation: Jason Todd Calhoun and Mark Christy, both of Carlsbad, Calif., are enrolled as second-year apprentices in the plumbing apprentice program offered by the PHCC of San Diego association chapter; Kevin Reich of Laurel, Md., is enrolled at Howard Community College and will be transferring to the University of Maryland to complete a four-year degree in mechanical engineering.

    The remaining $7,500 in Bradford White’s scholarship support is awarded through the PHCC National Auxiliary, with winners to be announced during PHCC’s convention in Las Vegas.


  • Delta Faucet Co.: Delta Faucet Co. recently announced the winners of six $2,500 scholarships in its 25th year of support: Ryan Calhoun of Haltom City, Texas, is currently enrolled in the PHCC of Texas four-year plumbing apprentice program; Steven Chase of Clinton, Mass., is enrolled at Wentworth Institute of Technology and is pursuing a four-year degree in construction management; Michael Mattern of Attica, Ind., is enrolled at Purdue University and is pursuing a four-year degree in building construction management; Colin Mohnacs of Woodbridge, Va., is enrolled at Washington & Lee University and is pursuing a four-year degree in mechanical engineering; Angela Rich of Mackinaw, Ill., is currently attending Bradley University and is pursuing a four-year degree in construction management; and Ethan Scurlock of Jackson, Ohio, will be entering a five-year plumbing apprentice program this fall with the local plumbers and pipefitters union.
