Carolina Utility Launches Solar Thermal Research Study
July 10, 2009
Carolinas’
utility Progress Energy is now accepting applications for its new SunSense
Solar Water Heating research study, which will test the energy-saving potential
of solar water heating systems in the two states. The study is one of several
new energy-efficiency programs designed to help residential customers save
money and reduce their energy use, the company says.
Up to 150 Progress Energy customers will be offered a $1,000 incentive to participate in this study and install solar hot water heating equipment. Progress Energy Carolinas will use the measured data to help determine regional energy-saving capabilities for a potential larger-scale program.
Research study applications are now being accepted and will be reviewed in order of the postmark dates on the envelope. For more information and to download the application form, visit www.progress-energy.com/swh.
