November 27, 2007
On Nov. 6 and Nov. 8 respectively, the U.S. House and Senate overrode a presidential veto in strong support of the Water Resource Development Act.

On Nov. 6 and Nov. 8 respectively, the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate overrode a presidential veto in strong support of the Water Resource Development Act. WRDA is legislation that calls for investment in critical water infrastructure projects around the country.

In order to override a Presidential veto, a two-thirds majority vote in both the House and Senate are necessary.

According to the PHCC-National Association, which supports WRDA, one of President Bush’s concerns with the legislation was the inclusion of Davis-Bacon funding provisions on certain aspects of water funding projects.
