The draining cleaning industry's biggest boost has been from camera technology. What started it all? My theory is the Northridge Earthquake that hit Los Angeles in January 1994. Insurance adjusters wanted documentation that sewer repairs
were earthquake-related before they approved funds. Was it a longtime stoppage or a fresh break in the line? You couldn't just tell an adjuster what you suspected. The only way to do that was with video inspection equipment.
But regardless of earthquakes, cameras not only identify the immediate problem, but also demonstrate upcoming difficulties. Cameras remove any doubt that work is needed.
