VeriSign Buys Network Solutions

VeriSign Inc., a leader of Internet encryption technology, has purchased Network Solutions Inc. for $21 billion. The acquisition will offer businesses a range of Web services, from setting up Internet sites to securing transactions. Network Solutions was once the sole registry for domain names on the Internet.
