Brasscraft Mfg. Co. continues its legacy of innovation with an enhanced version of its patented Safety+Plus Excess Flow Valve (EFV). The new Thermal Excess Flow Valve (TEFV) not only maintains the properties of the EFV, but adds further protection against gas-related fires and explosions that provides even more protection for home and family, the company says. In the event of a catastrophic rupture or disconnect, unrestricted gas flow forces the diaphragm to firmly position itself against the seat. This immediate action restricts gas flow to help avert a hazardous build-up of gas. The thermal excess flow valve utilizes a thermal ring that will stop gas flow through the valve when it is exposed to temperatures of 400° F or greater.
