DOE to regulate residential dishwashers

On April 24, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) published a request for comment on a petition for rulemaking to define a new product class for residential dishwashers.
On March 21, DOE received a petition from Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) asking DOE to initiate a rulemaking for a new product class for residential dishwashers with a cycle time of less than one hour from washing through drying. The agency seeks information on the comments and information provided in the petition.
Comments are due by June 25.
