Indiana Gov. Joseph Kernan designated Jan. 30, 2004, as Delta Faucet Co. Day in Indiana in honor of the 50th anniversary of the company's first faucet. The original Delta was a kitchen faucet with a washerless, single-handle design that revolutionized the faucet industry.
A ceremony at Delta's Indianapolis' headquarters was held to receive the Governer's Proclamation from Scott Fulford of the Indiana Commerce Department. A proclamation from Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson, recognizing the company's contributions to the city's community, was also presented at that time.
