Richard F. Kuntz, founder and now retired president, started Jupiter-Tequesta at the age of 30. He started out in new construction, saw the opportunity in service and repair, and has been focused on residential service and replacement ever since.
Founded as a cleaning and restoration services company in 1992, Stockbridge, Ga.-based Creative MultiCare launched its plumbing division in 2007. “When our water-extraction technicians were called to the site of broken or clogged pipes, especially late at night, they were all too often left waiting for plumbers to arrive,” explains Patrick McDonald, Creative’s president.
Having started plumbing at age 14, Derek Olin began his career working for a meager $1.50 per hour. After receiving his Virginia Master Plumber license in 1983 and working in the business for 15 years, Olin decided he wanted to be his own boss. He passed his plumbers contracting test and started Olin Plumbing in Tampa, Fla.
One of the best advertising tools for Daniel Cordova Plumbing stands 40 ft. in the air adjacent to the Interstate 10 freeway outside the company’s Baldwin Park, Calif., headquarters. The two-year-old company sank a mid-five-figure capital investment into a two-sided freeway sign, much like the ones seen at truck stops. The investment has paid major dividends.
