People On The Move
October 1, 2007
The American Supply
Association appointed Michael M. Adelizzi as its executive vice
president, effective Sept. 4, 2007. He succeeds Inge Calderon, ASA’s executive vice
president since 1995, who decided to step down in favor of taking on a new role
with the group’s growing Education Foundation. Adelizzi’s most recent
experience was as executive director/CEO of the Mason Contractors Association
of America. He also has worked with the Illinois Chapter of the Associated
Builders and Contractors.
The International Association of Plumbing
and Mechanical Officials hired Pete DeMarco as its new director of
special programs. DeMarco will join IAPMO in November and is expected to
develop new programs to support green plumbing technology, products, systems,
and applications. He leaves American Standard after working there for more than
32 years. He’s also served the industry in leadership roles for various trade
groups, code bodies and government agencies. DeMarco helped develop the EPA’s
WaterSense program, a market initiative for water-saving plumbing products.
IAPMO also hired
Dave Viola as
director of special services. Before joining IAPMO, Viola served as
technical director for the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute, where he oversaw
all plumbing code, plumbing product standard, product certification and
technical training activities. Viola has served on numerous committees and
boards, including a five-year term as chairperson of the ASME A112 Committee on
Plumbing. He is also a charter member of the board of directors for the
Alliance for Water Efficiency.
Jack Tester has
been promoted to head Nexstar’s
business coaching department. He has extensive management experience in the
heating, cooling, electrical and plumbing trades from small independent
contractors to consolidator corporations.
