Grainger, College Association Team Up To Help Trade Students

October 5, 2006
The American Association of Community Colleges and distributor Grainger recently announced the national launch of Grainger's Tools for Tomorrow scholarship program. The pilot program will award outstanding students at seven selected AACC member colleges across the country with a scholarship for their second year of an industrial trade career program, and a career-related tool package upon successful completion of their education program.

“Students enrolled in technical career programs will help meet a serious and growing skills gap in our country,” said George R. Boggs, president of AACC.

As of press time, scholarships have been awarded to three students: Amanda Korte of St. Louis, in construction technology; Michael Guido of Dearborn, Mich., in construction; and Stuart Nielsen of Seattle, in welding fabrication.
