Indiana Celebrates Delta Faucet Co. Day

March 1, 2004
Indiana Gov. Joseph Kernan designated Jan. 30, 2004, as Delta Faucet Co. Day in Indiana in honor of the 50th anniversary of the company's first faucet. Representatives of the governor and Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson presented proclamations recognizing the company's contributions to the community and its corporate citizenship at a ceremony held at Delta's Indianapolis' headquarters.

The original Delta was a kitchen faucet with a washerless, single-handle design that revolutionized the faucet industry. Alex Manoogian, founder of Masco Corp. (parent company of Delta), perfected the patented ball valve and triangular cam that gave Delta its name.

A company-wide anniversary celebration is scheduled for later in the year.
