Roto-Rooter Inc. Changes Name, Reports Sales Increase

Stockholders of Roto-Rooter Inc. approved changing the company's name to Chemed Corp. during the second quarter of 2004. Previously, Chemed had changed it's name to Roto-Rooter Inc. in early 2003.

The company also reported its second-quarter results, and the Roto-Rooter segment had a 6.7 percent increase in revenue from the same period in 2003, for a total of $68.9 million. For the six months ended June 30, 2004, its revenues were $138.1 million, compared to $129.3 million for the first six months of 2003.

CFO David Williams said that the Roto-Rooter segment is expected to have a 3 percent to 4 percent decline in revenue in the third quarter, and a 6 percent to 7 percent increase in revenue in the fourth quarter.
