Uponor Streamlines Business

Uponor North America announced it will close RTI Piping Systems in the United States and Plasco PEX-b Mfg. in Canada. Also, Uponor Manufactured Structures and Uponor Ecoflex businesses will be consolidated into Uponor Wirsbo and Uponor Canada.

Earlier, Uponor sold its U.S. municipal pipe systems business to PW Poly Corp. Executive Vice President Jim Bjork explained the objective of the plan, to be finalized in early 2005, "is to focus on our leading brand, Wirsbo, and core technology, which is PEX-a tubing."
