July 27, 2001
John L. Henshaw, a safety and health expert at a St. Louis chemical company, will head the Occupational Safety and Health Organization.

The Bush administration announced it has named John L. Henshaw, a safety and health expert at a St. Louis chemical company, as head of the Occupational Safety and Health Organization. If approved by the Senate, Henshaw will almost immediately have to deal with the possible resurfacing of debate on an ergonomics standard. It is not clear at this point what his position is on the issue.
