Journeymen Wage Rates Improve

November 2, 2001
Wage rates for construction journeymen are finally showing gains beyond the 3 percent to 3.5 percent range that characterized the last decade. The Construction Labor Research Council reports an average 4.6 percent increase for union agreements reached so far in 2001, while PAS Inc. of Saline, Mich., says nonunion wage gains will likely match last year's average 5.3 percent increase.
