A nationwide group of building information modeling users, known as the BIMForum, released the first-of-its kind standard establishing definitions for how complete BIMs need to be for different stages of the design and construction process.
The use of building information modeling software when designing green projects is increasing as more engineers and mechanical contractors understand how BIM’s energy simulation and prefabrication components enable sustainable outcomes for large projects such as industrial buildings, schools and hospitals.
The organization’s annual conference is slated for March 5-9 in San Diego. MCAA 2017 will provide mechanical contractors with numerous educational opportunities aimed at improving their businesses. Check out more articles in the February Issue.
