The ServiceMaster Co.’s American Residential Services (ARS) and American Mechanical Services had second-quarter revenues of $173 million, a decrease of 10 percent from the prior year. The company said the decline in ARS/AMS revenues is due to a reduction in HVAC construction activity, as well as declines in the plumbing and HVAC service lines. The business has been influenced by both unfavorable economic and weather conditions. Operating income for the quarter was $4 million compared to $10 million in the prior year.
