Crystal Lake, Ill.-based Knaack is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a year-long roster of events involving end users, distributors and the local community.

Knaack, a division of Emerson, kicked off its celebration recently with a press day and an employee celebration.

Knaack also manufactures and markets a complete line of Weather Guard truck and van equipment, including drawer units, shelving and van equipment.

“(The anniversary) means longevity,” Knaack Senior Marketing Operations ManagerJim Scarlatatold PM at the company’s press day. “Fifty years is a milestone. We’ve had tremendous growth. We owe everything to our customers for our success.”

Founded in 1960 to supply jobsite boxes to a construction supply house, Knaack began in a modest 2,000 square-foot facility in Crystal Lake (northwest of Chicago). It has since expanded its headquarters location to more than 400,000 square feet with 285 employees.

“We listen to the end users and produce products they expect from a company like Knaack,” Scarlata said.

As part of the celebration, the company introduced its new Limited Edition Knaack Model 50 Jobsite Storage Chest and a “Nifty Fifty Jobsite Storage Giveaway” - an online sweepstakes for qualified end users. Every 50 days Knaack will randomly select a winner who will receive one of the Model 50 chests. The Model 50 chest will be available to the public until Dec. 31.
