Ferguson Heating and Cooling has scheduled a “Troubleshooting and Servicing Heat Pump Systems” class open to the public in order to help keep its customers educated in the fundamentals.

"Troubleshooting and Servicing Heat Pump Systems" will cover the setup and key installation factors that affect the operating performance and efficiency for air-to-air heat pumps. Factors and components such as balance point, airflow, outdoor thermostats and controls will be discussed as part of the training sessions.

the one-day course will cover, in detail, various aspects of heat pump selection, installation and service. It covers basic heat pump operation, including:
  • a review of the refrigeration cycle
  • heat pump configurations
  • four-way valves
  • electrical schematics
  • defrost systems
  • controls and accessories
  • scroll compressor
  • and service and troubleshooting
