Eight leading manufacturers pledge to use Saniguard-treated products.

Plumbing and hardware manufacturer Component Hardware Group announced the addition of Praxis Companies LLC and Colonial Bronze to the roster of manufacturers who have joined theSaniguard® Alliance

The Saniguard Alliance is a partnership of independent companies committed to the use of the inorganic, silver-based antimicrobial treatment Saniguard, which is built into their plumbing and hardware products for the healthcare market. Saniguard actively inhibits the growth of a broad spectrum of common bacteria, molds and fungi that cause odors, staining and product deterioration. With normal care and cleaning, this antimicrobial product protection can be expected to last for the useful life of the product.

Operating five manufacturing facilities in four states, Praxis Companies LLC produces acrylic, polyester gel codes, and engineered solid surface bath and shower modules for the residential, assisted living, designer showroom and commercial markets. The company will use a Saniguard treatment on its Engineered Solid Surface products.

Colonial Bronze, based in Torrington, Conn., manufactures both commercial and decorative brass cabinet and architectural hardware, appliance pulls, bath accessories and switchplates. The antimicrobial coatings will be used on its products, “allowing us to stand out among the competition and offer a meaningful product difference to our customers,” according to Jamie Gregg of Colonial Bronze.

“We look forward to expanding the Saniguard Alliance and continuing to help other companies benefit from using high-quality, innovative products with added antimicrobial product protection,” said Tom Carr, president of CHG.

Other companies that have joined the Saniguard Alliance include Great Grabz, Leonard Valve Co., McGuire Mfg., Sloan Valve Co., and Town Steel Inc.
