  • ECR's Tom Reed retires
  • Grohe North America names Jeff Ackerberg as president/CEO
  • Gary Anderson now president of Lasco

  • Danfoss announced that its president and CEO, Jorgen M. Clausen, has retired. His successor, Niels B. Christiansen, has assumed these positions. Clausen will become chairman of the company after Danfoss’s annual meeting next spring.

Christiansen joined the company in 2004 as its chief operating officer and a member of its executive committee. In May 2007, he was promoted to vice-CEO. Clausen is the eldest son of Danfoss founder Mads Clausen, an engineer who established the company in 1933 in his parent’s attic in Nordborg, Denmark.

  • One of ECR International’s founding fathers, Tom Reed, recently retired. Reed joined his father in the management of Dunkirk Radiator Corp. shortly after his return from the Vietnam War. He became president of DRC in 1980. In 1999, Reed led the Dunkirk side of the merger with the Utica Boiler Cos. to create what is now ECR International. During the past eight years, he has served as chairman of the board.

  • Bath and shower product manufacturer Grohe named Jeffrey C. Ackerberg as president and chief executive officer for Grohe America, a subsidiary of Grohe Water Technology AG & Co. Ackerberg will take over his position from Andrew Stearns, who was recently appointed global chief supply officer for Grohe AG.

An industry veteran with more than 20 years experience, Ackerberg most recently served as president of Global Workspace Tools for ACCO Brands Inc. He held senior roles in Kohler, Eveready-Energizer, Emerson Electric and Robert Bosch Corp.

  • Bath fixture manufacturer Lasco Bathware recently appointed Gary Anderson as its new president. Before joining Lasco, he was the vice president of operations, acting vice president and general manager for Lennox Hearth Products, a manufacturer of indoor and outdoor fireplaces. From 2001 to 2004, Anderson was director of business excellence at Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration.
