Caroma USA is partnering with Global Green’s Green Schools initiative to help make two new charter high schools in South Los Angeles environmentally friendly. The Australian company is donating about 25 of its H2Zero waterless urinals to the Green Schools program. Global Green is the U.S. affiliate of Green Cross International, the global environmental movement founded byMikhail Gorbachev.

Two warehouses are being transformed into the schools - Animo Justice and Animo Ralph Bunche, both operated by Green Dot Public Schools. The schools are scheduled to open in September 2008.

Caroma made the donation in conjunction with its sponsorship of Global Green’s pre-Oscar party in Los Angeles Feb. 20. The annual event, held just days before the Academy Awards, raises awareness about smart solutions to sustainable building, global warming and renewable energy. The star-studded concert event draws numerous A-list celebrities, including those active in Global Green, as well as civic and environment leaders in the Los Angeles community.
