The Dwyer Group, a holding company for six home improvement and repair franchise brands - Mr. Rooter (Drain Doctor in the UK), Aire Serv, Glass Doctor, Mr. Appliance, Mr. Electric and Rainbow International - sold a record 235 new franchises in the United States and Canada in 2007. That was almost 24 percent more than the 190 franchises the company sold in 2006.
A growing percentage of The Dwyer Group’s franchise sales came from conversions, whereby independent owners and operators rolled their existing business into a Dwyer Group franchise brand. Additional franchises were sold through master license arrangements with other countries as well.
