Geberit’s "Sustainably enhancing quality of life Sustainability Report 2007" presents an overview of Geberit's objective of a sustained improvement in the quality of people's lives through plumbing technology.

"We echo here at Geberit North America what our Chief Executive Officer, Albert M. Baehny, says in this report," says John Fitzgerald, Director of Marketing for Geberit in the 52-page report’s announcement, "which is that economic success, acting in an environmentally friendly manner and social balance, are not a contradiction in terms. In fact, sustainability and social responsibility are closely interrelated and are important subjects for us. We look at sustainability as an opportunity to go down new roads."

One of the company’s recent introductions is its Concealed Tank and Carrier System, which gives a bathroom design flexibility by mounting the toilet on the wall instead of the floor. The system also incorporates dual-flush capability for added water savings.

With components positioned in any part of the bathroom and concealed, its adaptability allows for installation ease. Fitzgerald explains: "Our sustainability strategy and the objectives derived from it are based on global trends, such as the increasing consumption of water, ensuring high standards of hygiene. The carrier system gives designers flexibility, allows water efficiency and better hygiene.”
