In early August, the Fluoride Action Network, a group of more than 600 professionals - physicians, dentists, scientists and environmentalists - urged Congress to stop fluoridation of the nation’s water supply until Congressional hearings are conducted. The group cites evidence that fluoridation, long promoted to fight tooth decay, is ineffective and has serious health risks.
