HVAC Excellence recently released the new Green Awareness Certification program. Specification, application and use of products that reduce the amount of carbon are considered to be “green.” Several considerations are given to green buildings such as the site selection; quality and conservation of water; systems, materials and resources; energy efficiency; and indoor environmental quality.

The Green Awareness exams consist of green concepts, systems, terminology, products, and how mechanical technicians interact with green systems. They are approved by the United Association and Green Mechanical Council.
