  • Mike Bidwell was promoted to president of The Dwyer Group, succeeding Dina Dwyer-Owens, who was named chairwoman of the company and will continue as CEO. Bidwell will also continue as chief operating officer of group. Previously, Bidwell was president of Mr. Rooter and Mr. Appliance. He started with the company 23 years ago as a franchise owner.

  • HVAC Excellence appointed Dr. John. E. Hohman as its director of research and assessment validation. Hohman has 40 years of experience in the HVAC education and industry. Much of that time has been spent as an instructor and administrator at both the university and community college level, including Ferris State University, Mid Michigan Community College, Marshall Institute and Central Michigan University.
    He is also the state director of the Michigan Society for Healthcare Engineers, the national director of the Mechanic Evaluation and Certification for Healthcare and a past director of the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute.


  • Clockwork Home Services Inc. named industry veteran Tom Johnson to the position of team lead in the company’s Franchise Support Team. A veteran of the home services industry with more than 20 years of experience, Johnson has owned and operated his own successful plumbing business, as well as provided leadership in senior management positions for major home services organizations.
    Tab Hunter has been promoted to president of franchise operations; he was previously the vice president of franchise sales. And Denise Swofford has been named vice president of franchise operations.
    The company also promoted new directors of retail and franchise development: Darren Dixon (formerly president of retail operations) and Wayne Anderson (formerly an executive vice president at Clockwork). Each new director is responsible for growing their assigned retail holding as well as preparing franchises for future acquisition.


  • Duane Huisken is the new IAPMO director of marketing and communications. He has 30 years’ experience and a background in construction.
