- James O. Weflen, the Copper Development Association's western regional manager for tube, pipe and fittings, received the American Flag Award. The flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol on Aug. 20, 2003, in his honor. This award is based on an individual's work to advance the purposes of the association.
- Diana Corcoran, Seal Board coordinator of the American Society of Sanitary Engineering, was named IAPMO's Industry Person of the Year. She is the first woman to receive the award.
- Trini Mendoza, chief building inspector, plumbing/mechanical/energy specialist for Ventura County, Calif., was named the group's Government Person of the Year. He has 31 years of experience working for county government.
