Effective Nov. 1, The Chicago Faucet Co., a member of the Swiss manufacturer Geberit Group, has acquired 100 percent of the shares of W/C Technology Corp. (WCTC) from Masco Corp.

WCTC, Farmington Hills, Mich., develops innovative pressure tank technology for water closet (WC) flushing. With this acquisition, Geberit continues to increase its U.S. presence as part of its expansion and internationalization strategy. The company has combined U.S. sales of more than $90 million and employs over 400 people.

This acquisition secures for Geberit the water saving pressure tank technology for the commercial and public sector and opens a worldwide growth potential.

W/C Technology generates annual sales of approximately $3 million. The company was established in 1993, when Masco acquired patents from the inventor of the pressure tank technology. Together with Geberit, WCTC developed a pressure tank solution for concealed tanks that have been sold in the United States since September. WCTC also supplies several major U.S. vitreous china manufacturers.
