PlumbingOnline Signs Agreement With CareerSite

BuildNet Inc.'s PlumbingOnline community signed an agreement with CareerSite Corp. to power PlumbingOnlineJobs.com. This new recruitment section of the site focuses on employers and job seekers in the plumbing distribution, manufacturing and contracting industry, and provides employers with a free, one-stop browser-based e-recruiting tool.

For a nominal fee, employers can access more than 200,000 candidate profiles in CareerSite's database, auto-post and cross-post jobs to fee-based sites, list a company profile, and receive additional services. PlumbingOnlineJobs.com also provides job seekers with career management tools and easy access to employers of the PlumbingOnline vertical community.

Job-searching tools include automatic e-mail notification of job matches based on registered preferences, online resume storage, cover letter submissions, and the ability to search and apply for jobs. Access to customer service, a career resource center and online bookstore also are available.

In other PlumbingOnline news, the site announced the introduction of a new incentive to plumbing contractors, distributors and manufacturers who visit and register at PlumbingOnline.com. Between Oct.1 and Dec. 15, 2000, registered visitors to the site will be offered a chance to win a Royal Caribbean cruise.

Individuals who register for their free membership will receive one entry into a sweepstakes for a five-day cruise for two, including round-trip airfare to the Western Caribbean islands. Each time registrants log onto www.plumbingonline.com, he or she will receive an additional sweepstakes entry at a maximum of one entry per day. All registrants may increase their chances of winning if they refer colleagues who use their contest code to become a member of PlumbingOnline.

BuildPoint Designs Internet Workshops

BuildPoint Corp. has created Internet training workshops to meet around the country and teach contractors how to simplify and expedite everyday bidding and procurement processes. The meetings will feature hands-on practice, online demonstrations and live invitations to bid.

SupplySpot.com Branches Out

In a new alliance, SupplySpot.com will act as an e-marketplace for LatinTrade.com's Building Supplies and Construction Materials division In exchange, LatinTrade.com automatically will link its users to the SupplySpot.com site. SupplySpot.com also signed a one-year agreement with R. Hira Traders, a Middle-East HVAC supplier, to have the company serve as its Middle East distributor and promoter.

SupplySpot.com has developed two new features on its site to improve user experience. ResourceCenter gives links to manufacturers and representatives so users can acquire more specific product information. CatalogShelf is a multi-vendor collection of catalogs from which users can shop and purchase.

BuilderSupplyNet.com Builds Features

NationalContractors.com will post projects on BuilderSupplyNet.com's online bulletin board under a new partnership agreement. A link will bring users either to additional contact information or to the site of whoever posted the message.

Honeywell-Sponsored Site Features Service Resources

Launched mid-June, myFacilities.com, sponsored by Honeywell, provides online resources to facility managers and service providers, including an online marketplace, personalized content and online monitoring applications.

The site recently announced an agreement between Oracle Software and Yahoo! To help provide users with an array of e-commerce capabilities modeled after the My Yahoo! interface.

Bricsnet Grows While Earning Industry Praise

Bricsnet and Wilmington Publishing announced a partnership where Wilmington exclusively will provide all Bricsnet services in the UK and Ireland, and Bricsnet will integrate Wilmington's ASC - Webindex, which contains more than 7,000 building suppliers.

In other Bricsnet news, Daratech Inc. released a comprehensive report naming the company as one of 10 top Internet companies providing technology for the architectural, engineering and construction industries.
