Following the events of Sept. 11, IAPMO announced that it has canceled its 2001 Annual Business Conference in Portland, Ore. The American Society of Sanitary Engineers (ASSE) also has announced that the ASSE Executive Committee has unanimously voted to cancel the scheduled Annual Meeting in Portland, Ore., Sept. 15-20, 2001. Registrants are advised to contact the Portland Hilton at 503/226-1611 to cancel their hotel room reservations.

The Executive Committee is currently determining how registration refunds will be handled. This decision was made in response to concerns voiced by the ASSE membership, air travel restrictions, and the state of emergency our nation is currently experiencing.

In light of the circumstances, the society will be rescheduling the Board of Directors, Product Standards Committee and Seal Control Board meeting for later in the Fall (date to be determined).
