Page-By-Page Seminar

I'm one of the loyal readers of “Hydronic Controls” in PM. As a designer of heating systems for the F.W. Webb Co., I refer to Carol Fey's articles frequently, as well as columns by John Siegenthaler and Dan Holohan.

Usually when I quote a job to a client, I give him an itemized list of materials, submittals, worksheets, wiring and piping diagrams, and sometimes I include a copy of something Carol has written. When I do copy them and hand them off to clients, I ensure that they know who Carol is and that she is someone who gets the wisdom out in front of contractors.

What prompted me to fire off this note was a conversation I had with a client yesterday. He lamented that we don't sponsor enough “workshops/training courses” to suit him. My reply to him was to ask if he gets PM. Said he did. I asked if he reads Carol's stuff; he said no. So my parting comment to him was, “Just read Ms. Fey's stuff; you'll get training that you can apply directly in the field. She writes good stuff.”

Please continue the column Carol writes in PM; I read her columns every month.

Correction

PM would like to clarify an Around The Industry article that ran in its November issue. Chicago Faucets Co. moved its manufacturing operations to other divisions in Milwaukee and Michigan City, Ind. However, headquarters has not moved and remains in the Chicago area (Des Plaines, Ill.). PM apologizes for any confusion.
