From March 18-22, 1997, Frankfurt, Germany will play host to thousands of plumbing and hydronic fanatics in search of the best technology the world has to offer at the International Trade Fair Sanitation, Heating, Air-conditioning (ISH). The latest in plumbing, hydronics, tools, radiant heating systems, and computer technology and services will be on display in over 245,000 square meters of exhibition space.

Since its premiere in 1960, the show has grown remarkably. With 500 exhibitors in its infancy, in 1995 the show featured over 2,000 from a total of 33 countries and expects an exhibitor growth of five percent in 1997. For more information call 770/984-8016.

John Nussbaum, executive director of the PHCC of Southeastern Michigan was awarded the 1996 Spectrum Award for leadership and achievement. The award is presented by the Association Executives Council of the NAPHCC. Nussbaum used to be a plumbing contractor until taking the top job at the PHCCASM in 1986.

Ben Houston, president and chief operating officer of TDIndustries, was elected president-elect of the Associated Builders and Contractors at the group’s recent board of directors meeting.

The NAPHCC presented Dan Burnette, Interstate Mechanical Contractors, with its 1996 Legislative Service Award. As a member of the NAPHCC’s Legislative Advisory Council, Burnette has continually informed politicians in Washington, D.C., of the effects of federal legislation on the plumbing and heating industry.

Doris Lacroix, CKD, CBD, Canac Kitchens Ltd., Nepean, Ontario, has been elected 1997 president of the National Kitchen & Bath Association.

Contractors

Arizona’s largest mechanical contracting firm, J.B. Rodgers Mechanical Contractors, Phoenix, named David P. Brown CAD manager.

J.F. Ahern Co., Fond Du Lac, WI, recently announced several organizational changes: Tony Ahern was named vice president of the Pipe Fabrication Department. Heidi Horejs and Mike Fischer were appointed project managers in the Mechanical Department. In addition, the company’s Fire Protection Division named Jim Torgerson district manager of the Fond du Lac Ahern Fire Protection Division. Jim Dhein was named vice president of sales. Finally, the Milwaukee Mechanical Service group, formerly a part of the Mechanical Department, has merged with Milwaukee Fire Protection, with David Bavisotto, mechanical services sales manager, reporting to Rick Hext, district manager. Futhermore, Chris Kruszewski was promoted to service manager.

Manufacturers

Franke Inc., North Wales, PA, appointed Donald J. Huber product manager for the company’s Kitchen Systems Division. In his new position, Huber will direct new product development, develop long-range market plans and oversee customer service.

Hercules Chemical Co. Inc., Passaic, NJ, promoted Stan Stelmack to director of manufacturing. In his new capacity, Stelmack will over see manufacturing, purchasing and warehousing operations.

U.S. Brass, Dallas, TX, appointed Don Koopmans, national sales manager—radiant heating, and will oversee all sales of the company’s QestPEX plumbing systems to the radiant heating market. Koopmans brings more than 13 years of experience to the position.

Pete Warshaw, vice president of sales for Delta Commercial Faucet Division, Indianapolis, IN, retired from Masco Plumbing Products Division last month after a 41-year career in the industry.

Jim Westdorp has been named vice president and business manager of Kohler Faucets, Kohler, WI.
