The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association Educational Foundation will conduct its next Essentials of Project Management class March 17-20 in Lansdowne, Va. (near Washington Dulles Intl. Airport).  The intensive four-day class teaches PHC contractor business owners and their project management team to recognize the value of preplanning and standardizing their project management procedures.

“This class has always included lessons on cutting waste and making every project profitable,” said course director and lead instructor Kirk Alter.  “For this offering, we have added new discussions on dealing with a slow economy and finding those new business opportunities in green/sustainable construction and other areas where there is less competition for construction dollars.”

The course focuses on using real world examples and numbers to drive home points on productivity and profits.  “The instructors do a great job of showing the impact in real dollars and hours of all those little choices we make every day,” said past attendee Mike Church, owner of Church Plumbing & Heating in Elkhart, Ind.  “Some things changed in the company as soon as I got back.”
