This week is National Plumbing Industry Week. The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association will kick off the week -- as well as its 125th anniversary celebration -- with a May 1 water conservation rally on Capitol Hill.

Attendees of the Leadership and Legislative Conference '08 will gather on the west side of the Capitol building to illustrate their commitment to helping the nation conserve its most precious resource.  Members of Congress, representatives of EPA and several industry leaders have been invited to speak to the group.

During the rally PHCC President Jim Finley will challenge Americans to take steps to conserve water in their homes this summer.  PHCC will support homeowners' efforts with educational materials and free water audits, where available.

What can you do to help? Finley is asking each PHCC member to provide a limited number of free water audits in your area. Not only can audits help consumers identify ways they can save water (and money on their water and sewer bills), they also can be an avenue for contractors to attract a new customer, or expand business with an existing one.

Check with your local/state PHCC office for other Plumbing Industry Week events and activities in your area.
