The National Association of Oil Heating Service
Managers sponsored a green-themed Oil Heat Cares fund-raiser in late September in Lancaster County,
Pa.
Oil Heat Cares is a not-for-profit foundation that assists needy persons and
organizations with the replacement of their heating appliances. The event
included a tour of the Manheim Township High School, the first school in the
country to install a geothermal heating and cooling system.
The Southeast and Central Pennsylvania
chapters of NAOHSM, along with other guests, toured this landmark educational
facility and enjoyed a presentation by Jeff Harris, school engineer, and Tom
Koch, plant manager. After the school tour, a number of regular Care to Ride
sponsors exhibited products: Peerless with its Pinnacle boiler; Energy Kinetics
with its Smart Solar hot water system; Crown Boilers with its Energy Star-rated
products; Honeywell with some of its latest control technologies; and Burnham
Boilers with it latest energy-efficient boiler technologies.
