MADCAD.com will launch its
eLibrary v3.0 March 2. MADCAD is an online resource where subscribers can
search across thousands of codes and standards instantly.
“We
don’t sell books, and we don’t sell PDFs of books,” CEO
Pelin Atasoy explained In
the announcement. “We provide real-time, subscription-based access to the codes
and standards information from ASHRAE, ASTM, ICC, NFPA and others. From any web
browser ― even on the iPhone, ― you can search our entire code database of over
7,000 books. In less than a second, you know what books have the regulations
you need, and with one more click you can jump into relevant code sections to
read full-book content.”
This
latest version of MADCAD.com makes it easy to browse codes with web-based (HTML)
features:
- chapters, sections and figures cross-referenced and linked
-
linked table of contents and errata
- ability to copy and paste
relevant excerpts and tables into reports
Personal Book Groups lets users
organize books as desired, such as all the applicable books for a current
project. MADCAD.com
v3.0 also incorporates a new database with adopted model codes by states and
state amendments, and a database of more than 10,000 product manufacturer’s Web site
links organized by CSI’s MasterFormat.
MADCAD.com
offers a simple and flexible subscription system to access thousands of codes and standards. Subscribers can pick and choose any
books to create a custom subscription package, or choose from discounted
packages. Pricing is based on the number of concurrent users or locations
within an organization, depending on the publisher. Subscribers can also create custom packages with different concurrency
levels on different books.
